Here at Steve Hills Design, we were delighted to open the most recent issue of Utopia Kitchen & Bathroom magazine and see one of our kitchens featured.

Installed in a new build, the home is located in the picturesque village of Quorn in Leicestershire.

The homeowners, Damian and Sharron Waters wanted a 'timeless, classical design that wasn't going to look outdated'. With two young children, the kitchen needed to be geared up for a modern family.

Sharron had a comprehensive list of must have appliances including a bank of integrated ovens, a combi-stem oven and an induction hob, with the capacity to cook for more than just four people, as entertaining family and friends was a high priority on the Waters wish list.

The large island unit, with integrated breakfast bar was painted in rich blue with all other units being painted in palest blue. To soften the units, a mid blue paint was chosen to complement the units and also as the accessory colour for the soft furnishings in the dedicated corner dining area.

Planning for the long term is equally as important as the short term, especially when it comes to the kitchen. Sharron was keen to have a larder unit, dedicated to primarily service breakfast. Once the children are a bit older, she hopes that they will happily help themselves to toast and cereal at breakfast time ad ease the busiest part of the family day!

Magazines are a great source for inspiration and can assist you when looking for ideas. Damian and Sharron heard about Steve Hills Design via one of their own clients, who had ironically read about us in a previous issue of Utopia Kitchen & Bathroom magazine.

If you are thinking of having a new kitchen, why not pick up the June copy of Utopia Kitchen & Bathroom magazine? Who knows, next time it could be your kitchen that appears...
